Region II Special Convening

The IDRA EAC-South Region II Special Convening is taking place this week, September 18-20, 2019, in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. The convening will include a series of activities and panels for all participants highlighting the exciting, collaborative work of the IDRA EAC-South and its partners. We are bringing together stakeholders from across the 12-state region to identify needs across the South and develop a scope of work for the 2019-20 school year.
Watch our livestream event this Friday on Supporting Students in the Wake of Violence. The IDRA EAC-South will feature school leaders from four communities affected by recent nearby mass shootings: Broward County, Florida; Charlottesville, Virginia; El Paso, Texas; and Jackson, Mississippi.
The IDRA EAC-South (the Equity Assistance Center for the U.S. South) is one of four federally-funded centers that provide technical assistance and training at the request of school districts and other responsible governmental agencies to build capacity of local educators to ensure a more equitable learning environment for all students. Our four focus areas include race, gender, national origin, and religion. The IDRA EAC-South specifically serves states and school districts in federal Region II: Alabama, Arkansas, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia.
